Moisture sensors battery CP502440 LoRaWAN network for efficient data transmission

Sensoterra's soil moisture sensors are revolutionizing agriculture and urban water management by providing precise, real-time soil data that helps optimize irrigation and conserve precious water resources. These robust devices are designed to stay in the field for years, operating completely wirelessly and maintenance-free. At the heart of their long-term reliability is their internal power source: a CP502440 Lithium-Manganese Dioxide (Li-MnO₂) pouch battery.

The CP502440 battery offers a rated capacity of 1200mAh and a nominal voltage of 3.0V. It is ideally suited for Sensoterra's ultra-low-power design, which leverages the LoRaWAN network for efficient data transmission. With its extremely low self-discharge rate (less than 2% per year at 20°C), this battery chemistry enables a sensor lifespan of 5 to 10 years, depending on usage. Its ability to deliver high pulse currents also ensures the sensor can reliably transmit data back to the cloud at regular intervals.

Sensoterra sensors are built tough—they can even be hammered into the ground with a rubber mallet and are IP67 rated. The CP502440 battery's inherently wide operating temperature range and stable voltage platform ensure dependable performance in these demanding outdoor conditions. Ultimately, this powerful little battery allows users to "fit and forget" their sensors, focusing instead on the valuable insights derived from their soil data.
